Striker Alex Millàn will play for Cercle Brugge this season, following the Groen-Zwart reaching an agreement with last season’s Europa League winner, Villarreal. Millàn, a 21-year-old Spaniard, joins for one season on loan, with an option to buy.
Alex Millan joins Cercle Brugge
Alex Millàn is a striker who joined Villarreal from Real Zaragoza's youth system in 2017. Last season he scored 13 goals in 41 games, and was captain of the reserves. Millàn is also a former Spanish youth international and has been training with the Villarreal first team in recent weeks, which means that he is only now set to join Cercle.
"It has been a long period of negotiations to get him here at Cercle, but we are very happy that he has finally arrived,” said technical director Carlos Aviña following the forward’s arrival. “Alex Millan has a great future ahead of him: he has showed plenty in the Europa League winner's first team in recent weeks; they actually wanted to keep him this season. Millàn also has a strong personality and that will undoubtedly bring added value to the dressing room. Welcome!"
