Cercle Brugge KSV announces the appointment of Ben Lambrecht as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Ben Lambrecht is named CEO of Cercle Brugge
Ben Lambrecht, 57, was born and raised in West Flanders. Ben grew up near Kortrijk and now lives in Lennik. In addition to a Master's degree in TEW (Applied Economic Sciences) from the University of Antwerp, Ben also holds an advanced management degree from INSEAD Business School.
Ben started his professional career in 1986 as a staff accountant at Peat Marwick (KPMG). Subsequently, he also worked for the American company R.J. Reynolds Tobacco and for the Belgian cookie manufacturer and supplier of the royal brand, Delacre. In 1993, Ben moved to The Coca-Cola Company, where he held various marketing and sales positions in Belgium and abroad. For example, Ben Lambrecht was responsible for the marketing of the soft drink brands Fanta and Sprite and successively launched the Aquarius and Nestea brands in 1994 and 1995.
Ben was appointed "Vice-President Sales & Logistics Belgium" at Coca-Cola in 2000 and lived and worked in the United Kingdom between 2003-2005, where he was in charge of the entire sales department. In 2006 Ben became "Vice-President Sales & Marketing" for Belgium and Luxembourg. Subsequently, between 2010-2013 he led the "Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg Business Unit" as its General Manager, where he managed a team of more than 2000 employees and in which he had his first foray into sports sponsorship, including football. Ben headed a high-performing Benelux team that maximized its synergies and and business processes to accelerate implementation of best practices in three countries simultaneously.
In 2013 Ben became "Vice-President France" at Coca-Cola European Partners, the largest independent Coca-Cola bottler. As General Manager, Ben Lambrecht headed operations in one of the largest and most important markets for the international soft drink group. By launching multiple innovative and consumer-focused initiatives, Ben and his team consistently outperformed market expectations. After more than 28 years at Coca-Cola, Ben decided in 2020 to return to Belgium to live closer to his family. In the meantime, looking for a new Belgian challenge, preferably in an international context, Ben was active as External Senior Advisor for Bain & Company. There he helped clients find solutions to urgent strategic issues. Ben is now starting a new challenge at Cercle Brugge, where he will use his (international) experience as CEO to help Cercle grow into a true hub of talent on and off the field.
