No Jupiler Pro League football this weekend. Because of the international break, the league only resumes in the first weekend of April with a home game against Beerschot. Cercle will also see three internationals leave in the coming week: Strahinja Pavlovic (Serbia), Franck Kanouté (Senegal) and Olivier Deman (U21 - Belgium) will defend the colours of their country the coming week.
Pavlovic, Kanouté and Deman on international duty
Strahinja Pavlovic has with the Serbian national team 3 qualification matches for the World Cup 2022 on the programme. Wednesday Serbia plays at 20h45 against Ireland, Saturday Portugal follows. Next week, Tuesday 30 March, Serbia plays Azerbaijan.
For Franck Kanouté and Senegal, there are 2 matches on the programme in the qualifications for the Africa Cup. On Friday, Senegal will play Congo-Brazzaville, next Tuesday Senegal will play Eswatini. Senegal is well on its way to winning the qualification: with 12 points after 4 matches, Senegal is in the lead in their Group I.
Olivier Deman was called up for the Belgian national second team. In anticipation of a new qualification campaign for the European Championship in 2023, which starts on 4 June with a match in and against Kazakhstan, the Belgian U21ers will be working on a preparatory training course in Genk in the coming week.
